I liked Jewel when she was younger, you know... "You Were Meant for Me" younger, when she lived in her van and played her guitar at coffeehouses, and she really meant what she said. Now she's just trying really hard to be angry about the world... but really, can you be very angry when you've sold millions of records and have a cowboy boyfriend? I don't like her so much anymore. (The her that's writing songs like "Jesus Loves You". Come on.)
But she can write love songs and poetry that make sense to my heart, not just my brain, and that's why I still love her. It's because I'm a sucker and a sap, don't you see.
